AI Boot Camp to Enhance Youth Voices for Stronger Tobacco Control Policy

AI Boot Camp to Enhance Youth Voices for Stronger Tobacco Control Policy

Global Youth Voices (GYV) continues to expand as a global youth-led movement advocating for tobacco control and industry accountability. In 2026, priority is given to strengthening the capacity of youth advocates, expanding active engagement across the network, and enhancing practical advocacy skills. Artificial intelligence (AI) tools are increasingly shaping research, communications, monitoring, and advocacy work. When used responsibly, AI can significantly improve the efficiency and impact of youth-led advocacy. However, structured training and ethical safeguards are required to ensure alignment with the World Health Organization Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC) principles and GYV positions. The proposed AI Bootcamp is a focused, in-person capacity-building initiative designed to equip selected GYV youth advocates with practical AI skills while strengthening movement engagement and output delivery in 2026.
