Participation is open to youth organizations and coalitions that share GYV’s policy direction and independence requirements.

Coordinated groups of youth organizations working across issues, countries or regions.

Youth associations with accountable leadership and a commitment to collective policy advocacy.

Participation requirements

  • Youth organizational identity

    The applicant must be a youth organization, coalition, network, association, or other structured youth body.

  • Alignment with the Declaration

    The organization must support GYV's principles and the policy positions set out in the GYV Declaration.

  • Independence

    The organization must be independent of tobacco industry interests and disclose relevant current and previous relationships fully and accurately.

  • Collective contribution

    The organization should be willing to contribute to shared advocacy, policy engagement, and campaign action.

What Happens After You Apply?

Every expression of interest is reviewed to protect the movement’s youth identity, policy alignment, and independence.

Send your organization's expression of interest and required disclosures.

Review

GYV reviews eligibility, alignment with the Declaration, and conflict-of-interest information.

Step 3

Clarify if needed

GYV may contact your organization where additional information or clarification is required.

Join GYV

Approved organizations receive onboarding information and current opportunities to participate.

Our Independence Matters

  • There is a fundamental and irreconcilable conflict between public health interests and the commercial interests of the tobacco industry.



  • GYV does not accept tobacco industry funding or engage with the tobacco industry or organizations and individuals working to further its interests.

  • 
Current direct or indirect ties to the tobacco industry or entities furthering its interests are incompatible with participation in GYV. Relevant previous relationships must be disclosed and will be reviewed according to their nature, timing and circumstances.

  • All expressions of interest are subject to eligibility, alignment, and conflict-of-interest review.

  • Submission does not automatically result in participation.



  • Disclosure is required. Applicants must provide complete and accurate information concerning relevant funding, sponsorship, services, relationships, or other interests.

Global Youth Voices Form

The Global Youth Voices is a movement of global, regional, and local youth organizations covering more than 130 countries that seeks to make the tobacco industry pay for the harms caused to the planet and its people, not only for those in this generation but also for future generations. It is convened by the Global Center for Good Governance in Tobacco Control.
